University of Cambridge: From Design to Biological Sciences

Cambridge Filmworks have produced a new set of films showcasing the University of Cambridge’s prestigious Design course and the renowned School Biological Sciences.

The Design course combines architecture, engineering, and material science all in one degree. It challenges students to think about global problems, like climate change, and how to solve them. Students gain the knowledge and skills needed for careers in the built environment and a range of technical and creative sectors. Students also get a strong grounding in programming and mathematics, opening up fields such as AI and finance.

The research and teaching carried out in the School of the Biological Sciences is diverse and covers animal, human, plant and microbial science from the atomic, molecular and cellular levels through to tissues, organs, whole organisms, populations, ecosystems, biodiversity, and human behaviour. The research has impacts on health and disease across species, agriculture, conservation and the environment as well as on the pharmaceutical and biotechnology industries, with direct translational relevance to the clinic, public services and social policy, and the bio-economy.
