Working at the leading edge of technology innovation, the Microsoft Research teams discuss their research and the benefits of working in a collaborative environment in what principal researcher Simon Peyton Jones calls “a hub of innovation and intellectual excitement!”.

Professor Chris Bishop is the newly appointed Laboratory Director at Microsoft Research Cambridge. A Microsoft Distinguished Scientist, he is also Professor of Computer Science at the University of Edinburgh and a Trustee of the Royal Institution of Great Britain. He is a Fellow of the Royal Academy of Engineering, a Fellow of the Royal Society of Edinburgh, and a Fellow of Darwin College Cambridge. His research interests include machine learning and its applications.

Cambridge Filmworks met up with Chris to find out what is happening at the Microsoft Research labs and what cutting edge technologies are in store for the future.
