Case Study
Anglian Water
Anglian Water is the largest water and water recycling company in England and Wales by geographic area. They supply water and water recycling services to almost seven million people in the East of England and Hartlepool.
Water is vital to health and wellbeing, to the economic prosperity of the East of England, and to maintaining a thriving natural environment that we can all enjoy. Yet we face growing challenges to supply from population growth in our region and the escalating climate emergency. To meet these challenges, we all have to play our part in balancing the needs of society, business and the environment to enable a sustainable future.
Anglian Water have always recognised the special responsibility they hold as a monopoly provider of an essential public service. They have a duty to deliver wider benefits to society, above and beyond the provision of fresh, clean water.
That responsibility is woven throughout their long-term Strategic Direction Statement and their five-year business plan. This is shaped around the need to facilitate growth in our region, unlock opportunities for customers and stakeholders, safeguard the environment and provide a resilient supply for generations to come.
From Grimsby in the north east of our region to Milton Keynes in the south-west, wAnglian Water provide the cleanest water to 4.3 million of people! They have invested £100 million in drinking water quality over the last five years alone – it’s among the best water on the planet. They’re the only company in the industry to achieve ISO standards in quality, environment and health and safety.
Anglian Water also clean a billion litres of used water in over 1,000 water recycling works, every single day. Once it’s sparkling clean again, they return it back to nature – our rivers are the cleanest they’ve been for decades.
“Our Purpose is to bring environmental and social prosperity to the region we serve through our commitment to Love Every Drop”
Anglian Water are constantly looking for new and innovative ways to improve. From protecting biodiversity, to installing the region’s largest solar array, to growing their very own tomatoes, everything they do is to improve the lives of the people in our region.
Cambridge Filmworks have worked with Anglian Water to produce a suite of new films highlighting their commitment to net zero, the environment, water supplies and their customers.
