Working with the First and Third Trinity Boat Club gave us the opportunity to tell the story of one of Cambridge’s most successful and historic rowing clubs. Our goal was to create a film that reflected both the club’s competitive standard and the strong sense of tradition behind it.
The film combines race footage, training sequences and interviews to give viewers an authentic look at the commitment and teamwork involved in rowing at Trinity. We wanted to capture the intensity of the sport while also showing the culture of the club – the early mornings, the preparation, and the shared drive to perform at the highest level.
A Story of History and Teamwork
What made this project particularly rewarding was the opportunity to translate the club’s long and distinguished history into something emotionally immediate and visually modern.
Working with Trinity Boat Club gave us the opportunity to tell the story of one of Cambridge’s most successful and historic rowing clubs in a clear, engaging and modern way. Our goal was to create a film that reflected both the club’s competitive standard and the strong sense of tradition behind it.
The film combines race footage, training sequences and interviews to give viewers an authentic look at the commitment and teamwork involved in rowing at Trinity. We wanted to capture the intensity of the sport while also showing the culture of the club – the early mornings, the preparation, and the shared drive to perform at the highest level.
Cambridge itself played an important role in the visual identity of the film. Shooting on the River Cam and around the college helped place the club within its historic setting, while modern cinematography and editing gave the final piece a fresh and energetic feel.
Most importantly, the project was about helping Trinity Boat Club communicate who they are to current members, alumni, prospective students and supporters. The result is a film that showcases not just rowing success, but the people and values behind it.
