Suite of New Films for Cambridge Independents
Creating a world-class experiences for all who visit, live and work in Cambridge, a global city
Cambridge Filmworks have teamed up with Cambridge Bid and Visit Cambridge to produce a suite of brand new films showcasing Cambridge’s thriving independent shops, restaurants, hotels and local businesses.
Independent businesses are an integral part of Cambridge’s unique charm and character. From restaurants serving food from across the globe to luxury boutique hotels, independent shops and galleries to unique experiences such as the incredible Lockhouse Escape Games, Cambridge genuinely has something for everybody.
Cambridge is a global city at an important time in its development – seeking to balance the fast-growing business sector, its place as a prime visitor destination and its role as a great seat of education and learning. Its challenges include moving people in and around the city, managing air quality and ensuring it remains a great place to live and work for all. Cambridge BID plays a key role in responding to these challenges.
The City has benefited from significant investment over the past five years with the redevelopment of the area around the railway station and the Triangle area for Cambridge University Press, the growth of the Biomedical Campus, the new West Cambridge and Eddington sites, new investment at The Grafton, the current New Museums Site in the city centre being developed by the University of Cambridge, the new Science Centre at Anglia Ruskin University and the University Arms on Parkers Piece – all examples of growth across, business, academia, residential and retail in the city.
The Cambridge independent sector plays a key role within this growth and the cities future, maintaining Cambridge’s world renowned character and charm by providing unique experiences to visitors and locals alike.
