Sharing net zero and sustainability best practice

COP26: sharing net zero and sustainability best practice

Sharing best practice and new approaches to deliver net zero and sustainability was the purpose of the Pre-COP26 business breakfast event, hosted by our the British Antarctic Survey (BAS) and UKRI who are targeting net zero by 2040.

We need to work differently to how we have done in the past if we are to deliver net zero and sustainable outcomes. Insights into how Ramboll are doing this was shared by the partnership (BAS, Ramboll, BAM and Sweco) who are delivering the Antarctic Infrastructure Modernisation Programme as they support BAS in their ambition to reach net zero by 2040.

Some of the session takeaways

“A lot of our focus is on decarbonising our research stations and our offices – to support our net zero commitments and help with the uptake of low carbon technologies” – Nopi Exizidou, BAS

“Robust governance is essential in sustainability – having representation from across the partnership – together we have collective assurance, which is so much more powerful” – Bram Miller, Ramboll

“Sustainability is no longer a differentiator, it has to be an industry wide joined up approach” Sarah Joliffe, BAM
