Google DeepMind Research Ready placements offer unique AI research opportunities at Cambridge.
Google DeepMind Research Ready is a summer research placement programme at the University of Cambridge offering insights into AI research to those from backgrounds under-represented in this field. The program supports students from underrepresented groups, providing valuable experience and fostering collaboration. Participants tackle diverse projects, gaining skills applicable to future careers in AI.
It is open to current undergraduates or recent graduates who have the potential to become the future of research in Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning.
The research placements are supported by Google DeepMind, the Hg Foundation and the Royal Academy of Engineering under the Google DeepMind Research Ready scheme. They have also been made possible by support from Hughes Hall, University of Cambridge.
“It has given me the confidence in myself to know that I do have the research skills to carry a project for three or four years.” “After this programme, pursuing a Master’s and a PhD seems a lot more reachable for me.” “It turbocharged my thought process and I’m now strongly thinking about coming to Cambridge in the future to do my doctorate.”
These are just some of the comments from students who took part in the Google DeepMind Research Ready programme in the University of Cambridge Department of Computer Science and Technology in 2025.
This programme is run by the University of Cambridge Department of Computer Science and Technology and involves a paid 8-week research placement.
