Documentaries Bringing Incredible Stories to Life

At Cambridge Filmworks, we believe that every story matters. From the quiet corners of scientific discovery in Cambridge, to the soaring peaks of the Himalayas; from the pioneering hospitals in the UK, to the far reaches of culture and heritage – our documentary work seeks to illuminate, to challenge and to inspire.

Journeys That Take Us Somewhere Real

Our teams have carried cameras and curiosity from London to Beijing; from the jagged terrains of Mount Everest to the frontiers of quantum computing. We try to meet people where they are, to walk with them, and to tell their stories with the respect and depth they deserve.

Working with Organisations That Trust Our Vision

We’ve been privileged to work alongside some extraordinary organisations which share our commitment to truth, care, and authenticity:

  • Royal Papworth Hospital: For its centenary, we produced Papworth: A Moving Story, tracing its evolution from a tuberculosis colony to one of the UK’s leading heart-and-lung transplant centres. The project wove together archive footage, patient and staff testimony, and behind-the-scenes access, particularly during the hospital’s move to its new home at the Cambridge Biomedical Campus.
  • Channel 4,  Amazon Prime, The National Trust, and others: Across clients and broadcasters, we bring technical rigor and emotional honesty. Whether it’s for television broadcast or streaming platforms, we aim to serve both the factual requirements and the storytelling heart of each project.

As we move forward, we hope to keep pushing into new frontiers — topics, places, perspectives we have yet to explore. Whether through co-productions, collaborations with experts in healthcare, science, social justice, or heritage, or new platforms and technologies, our aim is to bring more incredible stories to life.

If you have a story that matters — small or grand — we’d love to hear it. Every voice has a place and every story has the power to move us, change us, maybe even reshape what we thought possible.
