Cambridge University Hospitals: Walk in their shoes

Cambridge University Hospitals is a family of hospitals comprising Addenbrooke’s and The Rosie. As part of the NHS, they deliver expert care for patients – locally, regionally and nationally – while their vibrant teaching community equips and empowers staff for the future. CUH also benefit from and contribute to some of the most important biomedical research in the world today.

Everything we do, we do together

Cambridge University Hospitals bring together the daily experiences of patient-led care, their renowned teaching hospital and ground-breaking research programmes to deepen the understanding of medicine as a science and a practice. CUH learn as much from their dedicated staff and the patients they care for as they do from their scientists and research partners. Every member of the CUH community is part of the effort. 

Scientific innovation

Addenbrooke’s provides emergency, surgical, and medical care for local people. It’s also known for specialist services like organ transplants, brain and nerve care, children’s care, and genetics.

The Rosie, on the same site, is a women’s hospital and the top centre in the area for maternity care. It has its own operating theatres, baby assessment unit, ultrasound department, and a unit for babies needing intensive care

Cambridge is one of the largest centres for scientific innovation in the world. CUH are uniquely placed to translate these discoveries into benefits for patients.

Cambridge Filmworks have partnered with Cambridge University Hospitals over a number of years to produce innovative patient, researcher and service films. In our latest collaboration ‘Walk in their shoes’ we look at just some of the patient and staff and interactions that happen across the hospital every day.
