Time Credits

Time Credits make a sustainable difference to a range of organisations across the community, housing, health, care and school sectors.

They are proven to increase the number of people involved in the community and are able to help sustain that involvement over time, bringing about a range of transformative outcomes.

Time Credit systems support people in giving their time to strengthen communities and to design and deliver better services. Everybody has something to give that can make a difference in the place they live and Time Credits are a fantastic tool for encouraging people who may be new to volunteering. They also provide a system for organisations to work together to exchange their skills and resources.

Time Credit systems work on a simple hour-for-hour basis: for every hour you give to your community you earn one Time Credit, which you can then spend on an activity of your choice.

You can give time in ways that match your skills and interests, and spend your Time Credits with our diverse range of fantastic venues across the UK who offer everything from swimming to learning a language.

Working with the University of Cambridge Centre for Housing & Planning Research and Spice, the organisation behind Time Credits, Cambridge Filmworks have produced a suite of films to help spread the word about this exciting and innovative new scheme.
